The Rejection Pile is intended to be a record of my efforts as I work towards becoming a successful (as in, I need to file taxes about it) artist.

I am a non-AI assisted writer and graphic designers, and AI-assisted artist in visual and musical arts. My focus is largely on getting started with my novels and short story writing, as it has always been for me, but I am also exploring the new tools available to me through generative AI.

I invite you to join me on my journey as I send updates on my rejections- And hopefully one day, my successes.

About The Artist

I have been writing short stories since I was a preteen, novels since I was in high school, and have been a Dungeon Master creating bespoke settings and campaigns for players for over 20 years in a variety of systems, though I tend to favor older Dungeons & Dragons systems for tabletop due to their worldbuilding support. I have worked in the tech industry for nearly 20 years, and have been a technical writer for 15 of them, with a focus on procedure and troubleshooting creation. I have 8 years of corporate training experience both in person and in remote environments, as well.

With the recent advent of generative AI, I found that my abilities to create aids and visualizations at the table and in work were greatly increased, and as I have explored these new technologies and their limits through my art, so too have I begun to incorporate them carefully into my work. I have also begun to dabble in AI music creation, and I hope to bring the joys of my production to you.

There’s much to be said on the ethics of AI and corporate AI platforms, but it does not change the fact that these new tools are transforming the nature of our work on a daily basis or the need, as a creative and a knowledge worker, to be able to utilize the tools that are presented to us.

While my focus remains on my own personal output, I hope that you can all be willing to take a view into the life of an AI enthusiast and digital artist and enjoy the path with me.
