Late last week I received my very first rejection letter from Apex! I had submitted what I thought was a solid little story that straddled the line between speculative fiction and fantasy, but the competition was stiff and I’m sure there were better stories for their publication in there. I recognize that it wasn’t necessarily their vibe, but figured the worst that could happen was… I’d be rejected. And I was! Rejection bandage ripped clean off.
I will make some edits to my short story and submit elsewhere. I’m ready to try again. I’ll let you know as I await my response!
